Tony Gowell
Tony Gowell is the USA Softball of Maine State Commissioner, has been the District 9 and 10 Commissioner for about 10 years, and the State Commissioner for about 7 years.
Tony has lived in Lewiston for about 3 years, and prior to that lived in Sabattus most of his life. He met his wife Mariann there and raised 2 boys, Anthony and Vincent, and they have 1 grandson. They downsized and moved into the city. Tony owns a pest control business which he has been a pest control professional for over 30 years. He and his wife love to travel and love trying different foods.
Tony has been a USA umpire for 20+ years, has been to 8 National tournaments, held multiple State tournaments and umpired in many more. His success in the umpire world, gives all the credit to Norm Davis as he made him that much better. Tony still enjoys umpiring all assets of the organization. He, also, is a basketball referee and a football official for about 15 years. He loves the camaraderie of the fraternity of officiating.

Cleveland “Brownie” Brown
Brownie is the Maine USA Softball Junior Olympic State Commissioner. He has been the Coach of the popular Blue Demons softball program (1988-????), and Founder of the Fairfield P.A.L. Girls Softball (1998), USA Softball Umpire (1999). He is the Tournament Director of the USA Summer Tournaments, Founder of CEB Sports (1988), a program for today’s youth to learn/grow and enjoy life through sports, a Basketball Coach and Commissioner of the Central Maine Sunday Travel Basketball League.
Dave Mulcahy
Dave lives in Monmouth with his wife Ellie, who has been very supportive of his umpiring over the years. He has been umpiring for the last 15 years and became the UIC for Andy Valley in 2013. He has worked at 4 national tournaments from Virginia to South Dakota. He is a school teacher who is planning to retire in 2022.

Rick has been involved with umpiring ASA/USA Softball for 32 years for both the Fast Pitch and Slow Pitch, and National Federation of State High School Associations. He, also, umpired numerous State tournaments.
Rick lives in Augusta. He is a 3-Sport Official, an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and 1st Year Commissioner of the Capital Area.

Mark lives in Turner, Maine with his wife Marcelle. After coaching his daughters in youth softball, he decided it was time become an umpire. That was over 15 years ago. Mark has always been an avid believer of getting into the rule book and knowing the rules so when the his UIC moved up to become the State UIC, Mark was asked and accepted the position of District 9 UIC. Mark has worked many state and local tournaments and looks forward to continuing to be on the field in his role as District 9 UIC.
