Maine USA Softball Revamps Slow Pitch State Tourney Format

Maine USA Softball Commissioners decided at the their annual meeting to make changes to the Mens Slow Pitch State Tourney Program. In 2017, the Mens D Division will be  provided with a 4 home run limit.

Also in 2017 there will be only one Men's Slow pitch  E State Tournament.  No longer will there be a North and South Division.

The State Class E Tourney will be held in Waterville July 14 to 16. The Class D Mens will be the same weekend in Lewiston/Auburn.

Rosters will have to given to district commissioners by June 15th, 2017. Any team that does not follow through on a completing a roster will have to play in the higher division, in this case Class D.

Another change for Class E is bringing back the half inning ending home run.  Class E teams will not allowed to hit any over the fence home runs.  Any over the fence home run will end that team's at bat for that half inning.

These changes are being made in and attempt to bring back a Competitive Class D and Class E State Tournament.

The Adult Co-Ed tourney will be held in Augusta and will see no change in format.
